Sunne is the starting point of many exciting hiking trails. Some are short and easy, but still very beautiful.  Others are more challenging, varying from a few hours to several days.

All trails are well-marked so you can explore the forests on your own. 

However, if you'd like to be accompanied by a guide, we can arrange that for you.

Is there anything more relaxing than paddling on a lake, enjoying the peace & quiet with the sun on your face?

With so many lakes in our area, there are several possibilities for renting canoes and kayaks. We will be happy to inform you!

Several mountain bike tracks are located in the area, for beginners, experienced bikers and families.

From Nygård, you can hop on your bike and discover the area on gravel roads and through the forest. Bring your bike or rent a mountain bike in Torsby.

You won't have to drive far to find excellent skiing facilities in our area, both for cross-country skiing and alpine skiing.

From Nygård you can easily drive up to Hovfjället or Branäs, which are open from December through April.

Did you know there is an indoor tunnel for cross-country skiing in Torsby, open all year round?

Did you know that Värmland has over 10.000 lakes? Because of the "allemansrätten", anyone has the right to swim in any lake in Sweden and most lakes have an easily accessible bathing area, often with a fireplace and shelter. So make sure to take your bathing suit and towel with you on all of your trips!

From Nygård you can walk up to lake Lersjö, a beautiful small lake with a nice bathing area, a wooden pier and a large fireplace.

Imagine sitting at the fireplace near your cabin, preparing fish you just caught in the lake! We can make that dream come true! 

Apart from some luck and skills, all you need is a fishing permit and the right equipment, which is easily provided for at the local fishing store. 

There are several golf courses in Värmland and the 18-hole golf course in Sunne, is beautifully located next to lake Fryken. 

Sit back & relax while the guide drives the dog sled.
